When I think of child development, it is a vast,
forever growing, changing, and complex time of a child’s life. With that being
said we need to change, grow and educate ourselves in order to provide the best
opportunities for our children who need caring adults who know that
social/emotional health is the indicative marker of success and happiness!
“The child to be
concerned about is the one who is actively unhappy, [in school].... In the long
run, a child's emotional development has a far greater impact on his life than
his school performance or the curriculum's richness, so it is wise to do
everything possible to change a situation in which a child is suffering
excessively”.
Very will stated Tanya!!! As parents, teachers, and caregivers we must want to change and educate ourselves in order to provide our students with the best opportunity to achieve at life. I would like to thank you Tanya for your inspiring thoughts each and every week relating to how you interact with your students. ReplyDeleteTanya! I couldn't agree more with your quote. I love working with children even though I am not in a classroom setting to teach them. I provide the care after school that they need. I try very hard to teach them. learn from them, provide a safe environment for them, and be their friend as well. Some children don't always have a person that they can talk to about their feelings or tell their stories too. I try to be that person if I need to be. I don't feel that it is my responsibility to help them but I do it because I want to listen and be that person. Thanks!!!
